Terms & Conditions

APPOINTMENT POLICIES:

Initial appointments can be made by telephone, email or using the contact page on the website. Once an appointment is confirmed I will send you directions to my practice. After that, future appointments are made at the end of each session.

Some people keep the same appointment time every week or every two weeks. Others vary appointment times because of caring responsibilities/shift patterns etc. In this situation 2/3 appointments may be made in advance to ensure continuity.

CANCELLATION POLICY:

I require 48 hours cancellation notice otherwise payment will be required for the missed session. I will always try to give you 48 hours notice in the unusual event of me needing to cancel a session. Flexibility is given for illness/bereavements etc.

I take holidays throughout the year and will always give you at least 2 weeks notice. I try to offer alternate sessions but this is not always possible.

YOUR COUNSELLING SESSION:

Counselling sessions last 50 minutes and will always finish 50 minutes after the appointment time even if you are late so as not to inconvenience future clients.

In the session you will be helped in a person-centred way to explore the issues that are concerning you. I will not advise, judge or criticise you but will help you to explore your feelings, make sense of them, understand them and formulate what you want to change and explore how to move forward.

FACILITIES:

The road where my practice is based is a very quiet road and the practice room has an external door for the privacy of counselling clients only. However, should you wish to use the bathroom, you will need to walk through the rest of my family home.

MEDICAL / SAFEGUARDING CONCERNS:

When you decide to start a series of counselling sessions I will take a next of kin s and GP name and phone number should any medical or safeguarding concerns occur during our sessions.
